Upping The Ante

Raided my first Large floor last night.

There were no deaths (at least on my part), all rooms were explored and I gained a record amount of exp for a single round. It was far from enjoyable though. I wasn't at all pleased with the Party; we had a deserter who presumably lagged out halfway during our raid and this obnoxious player, a certain Grey Tuna, who incessantly made cutting remarks throughout the journey.

He had a shot at practically every member of the team, but I was probably his favourite punching bag. He didn't like how I was holding up everyone else by making occasional teleports to the base to smelt everyone Promethium and Gorgonite gear, instead of getting rid of the high level obstacles blocking certain doors (I wasn't even formally assigned the position as Tool Guy). Though Grey Tuna did succeed in agitating me, I can't say his comments carried much weight; I noticed he only started complaining after he pocketed one of the sets of Promethium platelegs I dropped on the floor.

I was also not happy with the Party leader's inaction, and his Mod status and the fact that we have each other added as friends only serve to disappoint me further. As the Party leader, Mr Mixer was responsible for telling off unruly members, while silence would've made him incompetent but tolerable. Mr Mixer went a step further and - instead of jumping to my defence - actually asked me to make one last delivery of armour to him, immediately after Grey Tuna very crassly expressed his displeasure at my tardiness.

The other Large floors I explored today also generally didn't go down well. Lag and connection losses made journeying through the rooms agonizingly frustrating and also resulted in deaths. There isn't to say that all of them were terrible; I had the good fortune of teaming up with a group of friendly players some time in the afternoon, which really made a difference. Getting past the 50-odd rooms was a lot more pleasurable.

We eventually faced off against a level 300+ Bulwark, which dropped a Primal Pickaxe. The other Party members agreed that I should have it for supplying them with armour and food throughout the raid. Yeah, it was an awesome round.
